EXAM PROCESS

STEP 1 - DATE ENTRY FORM

The first step in the process is to download and complete the Exam Entry Form . As well as your personal details , we will also need to know what qualification(s) you wish to take, the Awarding Organisations (exam board), Subject and Specification Code (including tier/option where applicable). These can be located in the Entry Codes section or by clicking here. Failure to include ALL information will result in Entry Form to not be accepted. A copy of your Passport and ID will also need to be forwarded with the Exam Entry Form to gcexamofficer@education.gov.gi

Candidates are also advised to check examination timetable for Key Dates and check whether exam takes place during a Bank Holiday (exams taking place during Bank Holidays may not be accommodate or will incur additional costs). Please see Feesfor further information.


STEP 2 - CONFIRMATION & PAYMENT

After your application has been checked and processed, a confirmation email will be sent to you via the email address you supply on your application stating whether we can accommodate sitting. Please allow for 3 working days for confirmation.

Click here for specific payment instructions. Please note that any examination entries submitted will not be registered with the Awarding Organisation until payment is settled in full and all documentations are forwarded by email (i.e. Passport/ ID). 

STEP 3 - STATEMENT OF ENTRIES & EXAM INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES

Statement of Entries and Information for Candidates - Written Exams documents will be issued to you as soon as payment is received and Awarding Organisations have released examination scheduling for the series you are sitting.  They will be sent via the email address you have supplied on your application form. Please note this may be some time after payment has been made, so don’t worry!

STEP 4 - EXAM DAY

On the day(s) of your exam(s) arrive at your appointed centre at least 30 mins before the examination is due to take place, as detailed on the statement of entry email sent to you. Please bring with you an acceptable form of ID. All exam ‘clashes’ (where exams for different subjects occur on the same day and overlap) will be resolved prior to your exam date. Students are responsible for checking whether there are any clashes. Should you also have exams scheduled at alternative sites Gibraltar College will need to be informed ASAP to support your exam sittings.

STEP 5 - WHAT NEXT?

After the last examination in the exam series has taken place, we will issue you with a pdf document, via email, explaining the results and appeals (Enquiry About Results) process. Our Key Dates section will also identify deadlines for these.

STEP 6 - EXAMINATION RESULTS

Results/grades are issued by Awarding Organisation on prescribed dates for each examination series, typically two months after the final examination has taken place. Upon receipt will notify you of your results/grades, electronically, via email.  

FINAL STAGE - CERTIFICATES ISSUED

Certificates are normally issued by the Awarding Organisations 12 weeks after results/grades have been determined. We will contact you, via email, to arrange collection of your certificate(s).
